SIC Wins RIDI’s Disability Specialist Award 2024
The SIC team was invited to the 2024 RIDI awards as a double nominee - and we won Disability Specialist 2024! Here’s what it means to our team and how it will impact our 2025.
The last time we won a RIDI award was in 2022 - so what’s new in 2024, which means we won it again? Both sides of our business pulled together to achieve amazing things this year - from our Learning Hub and community events to our dedication to consulting for businesses and working with local authorities. The project we really want to highlight is our Reverse Jobs Fair, which coincided with this year’s SIC Conference. This project was something we were really proud to add to our RIDI application this year - and it must have done the trick!
So what next? In the next year, we want to make an even bigger and better conference, including the reverse job fair. We’re looking to scale up both of these events to ensure we are creating ongoing support for the disabled and neurodivergent community and opening up conversations with employers about access and inclusion throughout the year.
We’re already actively applying for funding and finance opportunities to make these big ideas come true! If you know of any funding, make sure to let us know. Could your organisation sponsor one of our events in 2025?
With the big projects we took on this year, we’ve expanded our team and welcomed some amazing people to SIC. In fact, the SIC Team has almost tripled in size! Another goal for 2025 is to permanently add people to the team, rather than on a contracted or part-time basis.
Seeing friends, colleagues, and people in our network at the awards ceremony was a really nice way to end 2024. SIC will continue working hard in 2025 to close the disability employment gap and support disabled professionals across the UK.
