Ongoing consultancy with the SIC team.
Embedded expertise, for when you don’t need a full-time disability or EDI professional — but still want meaningful, expert support.
What is ongoing consultancy with SIC?
Not every organisation needs a full-time disability or EDI specialist. But many do need consistent, trusted expertise embedded into their work — someone who understands your context, your people, and your priorities, and can move things forward with you over time.
Our ongoing consultancy is designed for exactly that. We offer a flexible, embedded consultancy model where a member (or members) of the SIC team work alongside you as an extension of your organisation.
It can be short-term or long-term.
Light-touch or deeply embedded.
A few days of targeted support — or a partnership that lasts years.
We bring lived experience of disability, chronic illness, and neurodivergence, alongside strategic, operational, and research expertise, helping you progress accessibility and inclusion work in a way that is realistic, thoughtful, and sustainable.
When is this the right fit?
This approach works well when:
You don’t need a full-time disability or EDI professional
You want consistent access to expert support, without recruiting
You’re delivering complex programmes and want trusted guidance
You need someone who can both think strategically and do the work
You value continuity, context, and long-term relationships
It’s especially useful where inclusion work cuts across teams, projects, and systems — and needs someone to hold the thread.
How we work
We embed ourselves in ways that make sense for you. That might look like:
Regular days per month
Support tied to a specific programme or funding period
Ad-hoc days as and when needed
A long-term partnership spanning multiple years
Delivery can be remote, in-person, or blended.
What SIC support can include.
Because this is an embedded model, the work flexes around your needs. This can include:
Research support
Designing and delivering qualitative or desk-based research, sense-checking evidence, or supporting funded projects and evaluations.Internal project support and coordination
Acting as a critical friend, project lead, or delivery partner on accessibility and inclusion initiatives.Reviewing policies, processes, and procedures
From recruitment and onboarding to reasonable adjustments, funding processes, and governance — with practical, actionable feedback.Strategic advice and decision-making support
Helping you navigate complexity, risk, and opportunity with confidence.Ongoing advice to teams and leadership
Providing a trusted sounding board who understands your organisation and your sector.
We will work collaboratively with you to shape our support to suit your needs.
What embedded support really looks like.
DFN Project SEARCH
Over a five-month period, we worked closely with DFN Project SEARCH to support the development and delivery of their work — offering research insight, strategic thinking, and practical support to strengthen impact and sustainability.
UKRI & University of Strathclyde (WISHES Project)
As part of the WISHES project, we have been working on an ongoing basis with UK Research and Innovation and the University of Strathclyde, embedding accessibility and inclusion expertise within a complex, multi-partner programme.
This kind of long-term relationship allows for trust, nuance, and real progress over time.
